Historically, Illinois State University distinguished its donors through membership in the Old Main Society. Today, four distinct donor societies recognize individuals, corporations, and foundations for their annual, cumulative, and deferred gifts, as well as gifts to the Laboratory Schools. These societies bring together the leaders who share, inspire, inform, and enable Illinois State University’s mission for academic excellence.
Annual membership in recognition of gifts totaling at least $1,500 during the previous fiscal year.
Lifetime membership in recognition of cumulative giving of at least $50,000 for individuals and/or households and $500,000 for foundations and corporations. Distinguished status is conferred to individuals supporting the University at $1 million or more and to corporations and foundations providing support of $10 million or more.
Membership in recognition of deferred gifts — including bequests, trusts, and life insurance — upon confirmation of those gifts. Distinguished status is afforded to deferred gifts of $1 million or more.
Annual and lifetime giving totals may include gifts of cash, matching gifts, insurance premiums, deferred gifts, and gifts-in-kind.
Lifetime membership in recognition of a planned gift in support of the Laboratory Schools, University High School and/or Thomas Metcalf School, and/or cumulative giving of at least $10,000 in support of the Laboratory Schools, University High School and/or Thomas Metcalf School.
The Illinois State University Foundation Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2007 (July1, 2006-June 30, 2007), lists members of the above donor societies.
